Scholarships For Dependents of US Navy Aviation
Since 1987, Wings Over America Scholarship Foundation has honored the service of Navy aviation families by opening doors to education, opportunity, and what comes next.
“As a Naval Aviator, I understand the challenges these families face in support of their military member. Wings Over America Scholarship Foundation works to provide college scholarships to dependents of Naval Aviation to help them realize their educational goals. I applaud the work of Wings Over America Scholarship Foundation and encourage others to support this worthy foundation.”
President George H. W. Bush
41st President of the United States | U.S. Navy Naval Aviator
Deployments. Frequent moves. Changing schools. Interrupted careers. Missed milestones. Long stretches of uncertainty. Navy aviation service shapes the lives of entire families. For students, that mobility can also make it harder to build the local roots and connections that many traditional scholarship opportunities depend on. WOASF exists to help ensure that a life shaped by service does not limit educational opportunity.
President Bush understood that life firsthand. At 18, he joined the U.S. Navy and became a naval aviator, flying combat missions in the Pacific during World War II. In September 1944, his aircraft was shot down while completing a combat mission. He later served as the 41st President of the United States. Discover President Bush's Naval Aviation story →
